I had my day all planned out. Now I am the type of person that tries to plan things out, but is a lost cause 10 minutes into the day. I feel I need to warn you. If we ever have plans to meet up and I say that I will be somewhere in 30 minutes. Rest assure that I will be there in an 1hr and 30 minutes. I don’t think I do it on purpose, its just that I take my time and don’t feel I need to be in a rush. So, I would like to apologize if I am ever late.
I was to wake up early (9am) and read for a good 5 hours then get something to eat, clean the room while watching a movie, and head out to a museum. Along the way I was going to stop by Jane’s (girlfriend) work to look at a friends photographs that are hanging at the San Marino Library. She will be having her reception onĀ the 19th of December. I definitely liked a couple of the black and whites, but we settled to buy a color print of a little red alley way (picture coming soon). Since I was not planning to go far, I decided that I would go to the Norton Simon before heading back home to Jane’s. I wanted to take some pictures at the museum for some upcoming classes that I will be taking next quarter. Since Jane got a second job in downtown, she wanted to commute via our great transportation system. We were deciding to do a dry run to see what buses she needed to take and roughly how long it might take. All of this at 6:30 at night since she was at work till 6.
Like always, my day started out with a bit of a hicup. I woke up at 11am, read for 2 hours, started to clean my room while watching the movie Taken, and was shredding some bills. Before I knew it, it was 4:30 and I had not had a bite to eat. Too late to go the museum and no camera in had. I decided to go to another bookstore that will remain nameless, to look at the consumer report guide for a new camera that I have been wanting to buy. The store was horrible, I use to work at said store in Pasadena and it has really gone down hill. I was looking for the reference section and could not find it, then I noticed the new 50 cent book in the Death/Dying section and decided to look at the books next to it. I noticed books from the sociology/death & dying/self help and who knows what else in that section. It had no rhyme or reason to the organization. I avoided some people that I use to work with. It is always sad to see them and talk to them, because they are so defeated and they clearly hate what they are doing.
After getting the info from the guide and not buying the guide, I went to Target next to my work to look at the camera. I liked it and will be thinking it over a bit more since it is $279. I could buy a netbook instead for almost the same price and not kill my self carrying my laptop to school. I then headed to Jane’s work to drop off an audiobook of People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. Starving and a bit cranky, I headed to Jane’s house for our evening ride to downtown. I was hungry and decided to get something to eat and drop off the movies I rented from the red box. By the time we got back, we were to lazy to head out so I decided to read, do some laundry, and type this blog.
This is why I don’t like to plan ahead. I am trying. Maybe next time.
